My parents and I are going to be going to France in a couple of weeks. I am very excited about this trip because I have only been to France one time and it was many years ago. My parents are going to be going to France because of they would like to retire there. They want to buy a home there and live there. I will miss them a lot, but I think that it is really awesome that they are going to live there. I recently attended the ARC Awards in Dallas, TX. The ARC Awards is an architecture design competition. There were a large number of Plano architects that were finalists. I was one of the finalists and I won two awards. The first award I won was for best architectural design for a house under $200,000. The plan I submitted for this category had been built by one of my clients in Frisco. The other award I won was for best kitchen in a house under $750,000. The kitchen design was one of the better ones I have done in recent years. The ceiling was vaulted to 15 feet high with exposed cedar beams. The cook top was located within a brick enclosure that looked really good. The island was finished with a different wood and stain that the rest of the cabinets so it stood out more. And lastly the flooring was cut stone. This looked really nice but it was a pain to install it.
